BERT WILLIAMS
Bert Williams is a respected leader, manager and subject matter expert, with a career spanning more than 25 years, and across multiple disciplines within the Security industry. With experience in both the public and private sectors, Bert has crafted a career that has taken him from the Federal Aviation Administration to US Investigations Services, The Wackenhut Corporation/G4S, and for over two decades, Fannie Mae, a Fortune 50 company. During his career at Fannie Mae, Bert led the design and oversight of many of the Enterprise Resiliency & Security team’s most critical programs, including the Executive Protection Program, the Incident Management Center, which handled all threat assessments and incident response procedures, oversight of the organization’s budget, event security operations, employee-wide training programs, liaison efforts with federal and local government and law enforcement, as well as first responders, and management of one of the company’s largest contracts. Bert oversaw daily security operations for locations housing over half of the company’s employees and contractors and led the Security team in the design and construction of the company’s largest ever facility. Bert also was a founding member of the Fairfax County Business Emergency Operating Council, serving as Chair of its Operations Committee. Bert holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland at College Park. He currently sits on the University of Maryland Alumni Association Board of Governors, and serves as President of the International Organization of Black Security Executives.
