In 1982, at a time when the security industry lacked diversity, six Black men saw one another across the crowded streets of New Orleans during the American Society for Industrial Security (now ASIS International) Conference.
That powerful moment of recognition sparked the founding of the International Organization of Black Security Executives (IOBSE). Since then, IOBSE has grown into the leading non-profit organization for minority security professionals, committed to empowerment, mentorship, and lasting impact across the industry.
